FAMILY
Jerry was a man of many fine qualities, talents, and abilities. We are privileged to have witnessed and enjoyed some of these through the years. One, however, may seem very ordinary to many but it still comes to mind nearly every day, particularly at breakfast. He made his own pomegranate jelly. He would give us each a jar at Christmas as we left the Kaneko’s after a delightful celebration as part of his blended family. Bob often wondered, with all the things Jerry did each day, how he found time to turn those pomegranates into jelly. Bob continues to enjoy his morning toast and jelly, and Peter, who doesn’t eat breakfast, uses the jelly on dessert crepes. Now, to make it last, the jelly is spread thinner and the crepes made less frequently.
The jelly will finally run out, but our memories of Jerry will remain.
